WHO WE ARE
83 MINUTE FILMS is a Scottish production company built around one of the most commercially reliable sectors in entertainment: HORROR CINEMA. We produce high-quality, independently financed horror films designed for international distribution. These are audience-facing, visceral horror films made in Scotland, for the world, and each terrifying trip is exactly 83 Minutes long - the golden runtime of cinematic horror. Behind the scenes, we run a structured training programme that creates real jobs and career pathways for the next generation of Scottish filmmakers.
We aim to build something that will be a new home for horror fans the world over, and truly transformative for the Scottish screen industry.

of the UK’s most influential television, including Chewin’ The Fat, Burnistoun, and Mock The Week. Robert brings distinctive voice, genre fluency, and feature experience through his inventive microbudget debut The House of Him.
GREG HEMPHILL
Co-Founder, Writer and Director
A writer and director with decades of experience in UK television. Best known as co-creator and lead actor of the multi-award-winning Still Game, he brings deep audience insight, tonal control, and recent genre directing experience through BBC horror specials, alongside international screen experience.
MICHAEL HINES
Co-Founder, Producer and Director
A multi award winning producer and director with decades of experience across television and feature film. Michael directed and produced Still Game, earning the BAFTA Outstanding Achievement Award. He brings proven creative leadership and production expertise to the delivery of ambitious feature projects.
SEAN GREENHORN
Head of Development
A creative executive specialising in talent led film development. Formerly Scripted Development and Production Executive at Screen Scotland, his credits include the award winning On Falling and Limbo. He brings deep knowledge of UK development pathways and a strong track record of nurturing emerging Scottish filmmakers.
